History of PITX

On April 24, 2015, the concession agreement was signed between the government and the winning bidder MWM Terminals, a consortium of Megawide Construction Corp. and WM Property Management Inc. The project was previously called southwest integrated terminal to cover areas southwest of Manila including Las Piñas, Cavite, and Batangas. The estimated project cost for the building was P2.5B. Construction did not start immediately due to several issues hounding the project and finally, in 2016, the notice to proceed was granted and construction started on 21 October 2016.

When was PITX inaugurated?

Following the commitment of Megawide to finish the terminal in 18 months, PITX was inaugurated and its operation finally started on November 5, 2018. There was a mixed reception as the terminal was far from the MRT and LRT causing additional cost for the commuters. To pursuade the riding public to use the terminal, the government provided free transportation to the terminal on February of the following year.
